Swansea University Medical School is seeking to appoint a Lecturer in Biomedical Science as part of its development of a new suite of MSc Biomedical Science programmes. You will be joining the Biomedical Science Team at an exciting time as we are developing postgraduate training opportunities in Biomedical Science and seeking IBMS Accreditation for a range of courses. We are a Top UK Medical School located in beautiful South West Wales that educates and trains the next generation of doctors, life scientists, and health professionals.
The lecturer in Biomedical Science position will be key appointment for Swansea University Medical School in our development of new and innovative postgraduate courses in Biomedical Science. The successful applicant will the required to undertake the following main duties:
The successful applicant will have expertise in at least one of our specialist areas – Cellular Pathology, Clinical Biochemistry or Clinical Microbiology. Experience as a Biomedical or Clinical Scientistic and/or in the provision of Biomedical Science or Medical Science education would be desirable but teaching experience in other Medical Science settings (such as in-practice training, professional development courses etc) will also be considered. You will primarily teach Biomedical Science, but an ability to teach across the wider Life Sciences portfolio within the Medical School will be encouraged and supported. Furthermore, you will be encouraged and supported to establish or to continue your research activity within one of the Medical School Research Themes. Experience in the development and use of new digital learning technologies to support the translation of theory to biomedical practice and how it can support an inclusive education student experience would be desirable.
