The role
Based in the University’s Education and Student Experience Division, this is an exciting opportunity to make a significant contribution to a team that supports the development and implementation of the University’s Student Mental Health and Wellbeing Strategy
What will you be doing?
The role holder will work with the Director of Student Health and Inclusion and the Education and Student Experience Strategy Manager to oversee the implementation and monitoring of elements of the University strategies for Student Mental Health and Wellbeing and Education and Student Experience.
The role holder will initially focus on embedding our new model for student support. This focus will reduce over time, as implementation is completed, and focus will shift more broadly to other projects which underpin this strategic area, creating a varied range of responsibilities and opportunities for the role holder.
Our new “stepped model” for student support articulates the different levels of support for wellbeing provided for students, from signposting through to specialist provision. Although this support is already being delivered, the stepped model will improve understanding for staff and students, clarifying expectations and ultimately improving the student experience. The role holder will be instrumental in clarifying and articulating the stepped model approach. They will build confidence in the approach with colleagues, by developing and disseminating appropriate information and guidance, to support staff to signpost and refer students, to the appropriate service.
You should apply if
This role requires someone who is driven and who is confident working independently, using initiative to solve problems. You will have excellent inter-personal, communication and negotiation skills, and be able to work confidently with staff at all levels, across the organisation. Experience of working with senior staff will be beneficial.
You should have experience of confidently presenting and delivering complex information to different stakeholders. You will also have experience of working in the delivery or oversight of projects and processes, within large organisations. You will need to demonstrate that you have the resilience to deal with continuous problem solving and to manage a varied portfolio of work.
