Lancaster Medical School is a growing department within one of the UK’s top ten universities. We are seeking to appoint a Lecturer (Grade 7 or 8) to join the Centre for Health Informatics Computing and Statistics (CHICAS). Candidates should have experience in the development of statistical methodolgy and its application in one or more of CHICAS’s three priority research themes: infectious disease modelling, geospatial statistics; population health data; (https://chicas.lancaster-university.uk/themes.html). For this post, we particularly welcome applications from candidates whose research can contribute to the infectious disease modelling theme.
You will be supported to develop your own programme of methodological and collaborative research, to contribute to the generation of research income to support this work and to supervise postgraduate research students. You will also take an active role in developing and delivering the MSc in Health Data Science, and will contribute to the delivery of the undergraduate medical degree programme.
The Faculty strategy has teaching and research collaborations with the UK Health Research Agency, the NHS and the World Health Organization as a priority. Accordingly, you will have the opportunity to develop your research activity and contribute to teaching, learning and assessment in collaboration with clinical colleagues and academic colleagues with a wide-ranging expertise.
The Faculty provides a research environment that strongly supports the individual needs of each employee, promoting a healthy work-life balance. We are committed to family-friendly and flexible working policies on an individual basis, and to the Athena SWAN Charter, which recognises and celebrates good employment practice undertaken to address gender equality in higher education and research.
Applications for flexible, part-time or job share working are welcome.
