TUTOR IN ARCHITECTURE - BA ARCHITECTURE YEARS 1 & 2 (12 ROLES)

Joining the Manchester School of Architecture as a Tutor in Architecture you will be responsible for teaching within either the first or second year of our BA Architecture programme.

This specific role is to support the delivery of design studio teaching at undergraduate level (BA1 and BA2) for one day per week during term time under the direction of the Programme and Year Leaders.

Successful candidates should demonstrate evidence of teaching in Architecture at undergraduate and/or postgraduate students and will be expected to:

  • To teach and inspire undergraduate students in architectural design and to conduct associated assessments, utilising a range of methods and techniques in teaching, learning and assessment.
  • To provide academic and pastoral support to undergraduate students, and to carry out specific administrative tasks related to the role, maintaining student attendance records, grades, and other required records.

Within the workload allocated to their roles, tutors could potentially be asked to prepare and deliver lectures to undergraduate students on topics such as architectural design methods, aesthetics and design, and structures and materials; or to engage in the evaluation and development of units for which they have responsibility, in terms of content, delivery and assessment; or participate in campus and community events and study trips.
