We are looking for an experienced Head of HR to join our HR Partnering team supporting our 4500+ Professional Services colleagues. As a member of our extended HR Executive, you will work closely with the Vice Principals, Directors and senior leaders, as well as our team of Heads of HR supporting our three Colleges and three Professional Service Groups.
As one of our two Heads of HR for PSG, you will lead a team of 5 HR Partners providing a comprehensive professional HR service supporting strategic and operational activity to the 1800+ staff in the University Secretary's Group (USG) and Information Services Group (ISG). You will have a keen understanding of and a strong enthusiasm for the strategic potential of HR in the University’s development. You will be used to working closely with senior and executive leaders, providing expert advice and constructive challenge where required.
As a key member of the wider HR Executive team, you will support and enable the transformation of HR within the University by contributing to the development and implementation of change. Working widely with colleagues to encourage and establish new ways of working with HR, you will lead our transition to a continuously improving operating model.
What you’ll bring
You will bring extensive experience in an HR management or leadership role underpinned by broad experience gained in generalist and specialist HR roles, and apply this in developing your team.
You’ll have clear leadership skills, with a pragmatic mind-set to balance the legal implications, risk appetite and business need of your departments. You will provide direction and expert advice in the resolution of complex HR casework and exercise strong influencing and facilitation skills to constructively challenge established ways of working to encourage a culture of continuous improvement.
You will have excellent problem solving skills, applying them to identify the appropriate course of action in relation to wide ranging challenges.
