JOB OVERVIEW

Study Group’s pathway programmes are university-recognised courses that help students to gain the academic, English language and learning standards necessary in order to succeed in the UK or European higher education environment. 

The role of the Centre Director includes:

  • Developing and implementing a strategic vision for the ISC which focuses on student success, developing a highly engaged and operational efficient team, and supporting the development of a modern innovative curriculum with flexible and innovative delivery modes which support both digital and f2f learning.
  • Leading staff development initiatives which promote the development of highly engaged teams to deliver the best possible student outcomes for the stakeholders.
  • Take accountability in ensuring the Student Experience team comply with both network and key legislation processes (Health and Safety, Safeguarding, UKVI Compliance) with regard to robust monitoring, reporting accurate data, and meeting deadlines for data submissions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the team including working collaboratively with Student Experience and be accountable for ensuring that the Student Experience team is adequately staffed to comply with both network and key legislation processes (Health and Safety, Safeguarding, UKVI Compliance) with regard to robust monitoring, reporting accurate data, and meeting deadlines for data submissions.
  • To ensure the implementation/establishment of new products which deliver growth meets the requirements for undergraduate and postgraduate study while ensuring that effective module and programme reviews are carried out to deliver the best possible student outcomes through effective staff resourcing and reviewing Cost per Student Week.
  • To lead and support the Learning Delivery Director in establishing an optimum organisational structure that ensures the size and shape of the centre are aligned to SG benchmarks which focus on student progression, student satisfaction and organisational efficiency. 
  • To be the University’s key contact for the Centre’s teaching and learning operations while producing relevant academic reports for joint partnership meetings between Study Group and the University which highlight developments and progress across the Centre’s academic programmes and operations.
  • To set KPIs for the Centre’s Management Team including setting personal objectives and reviewing performance in accordance with company policy and procedures.
  • To lead and support clear decisions making, especially in areas which impact student success, partnership relations, finance, and the reputation of the Centre, following the relevant escalation protocols if necessary.

EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

  • Postgraduate Degree.
  • Teaching Experience at FE or University level, particularly with large international cohorts.
  • Experience in strategic leadership across multiple programmes and subject disciplines working with a broad variety of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Detailed knowledge of International Foundation pathways delivery in the UK context and knowledge of academic standards required at HE level.
  • Successful change management experience, ideally in the service of growth or student success in some form.
  • Experience in developing and operationalising strategic initiatives for the Centre which demonstrate an understanding of a University’s core strategy.
  • Evidence of delivering excellence in the design and delivery of teaching.
  • Evidence of producing high-level reports which utilise data-driven evidence and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Experience in engagement with internal and external senior management stakeholders
  • Evidence of using multiple resources to inform organisational efficiencies and drive high student outcomes.
