Come and join us at Sheffield Business School (SBS) to play a leading role in helping us to transform lives through impactful research and innovation (R&I). We are refreshing our R&I strategy, building on the success of the past five years, during which we have achieved AACSB accreditation, significantly increased the quantity and quality of our research outputs and impact, and built a thriving community of postgraduate and early career researchers.
We are seeking several experienced and motivated researchers to lead our R&I activities across four thematic areas that we have identified as central to achieving our ambition to be recognised as a world-leading applied business school:
We are especially keen to hear from candidates who have track records of developing and leading applied interdisciplinary research in one or more of these areas. Proven experience of generating substantial research or knowledge exchange income, engagement with external stakeholders, leading research teams and achieving impact on practice, policy or wider society will be a distinct advantage.
You will join a diverse team of motivated research leaders and you will be expected to play a leading role in developing one or more of our R&I themes, working with SBS academics to ensure integration with learning, teaching and business engagement. Supervision of research students and mentoring of early and mid-career colleagues will be key elements of the roles.
For further information about our ambitious R&I strategy and these exciting roles, please see the attached Applicant Brief. For informal discussion contact Professor Steve Johnson, SBS Research Director (Steve.Johnson@shu.ac.uk) or Professor Emma Martin, Associate Dean Research and Innovation (e.martin@shu.ac.uk).
The University may be able to sponsor the employment of international applicants in this role; this will depend on a number of factors specific to the individual applicant.
