Driving and enhancing operational processes

This is a key role in which you will be overseeing and enhancing the operational platform for scale which has been successfully established in the Business School. The successful candidate will be accountable for ensuring that all operational processes are clearly defined and documented and support the effective deployment and delivery of our programmes whilst ensuring a high-quality experience for our students.

What you’ll be doing

  • Leading the operations and support teams in the school ensuring all aspects of operational delivery are organised to meet the needs of the programmes
  • Representing the school within the University Operations forum and other meetings/projects as required
  • Managing the relationship between the School and key central departments
  • Overseeing the operational planning and delivery activities within the school ensuring effective communication and collaboration between teams
  • Managing live student data to ensure accurate cohort tracking and to support effective resource planning
  • Managing the provision of data to all internal stakeholders via the development and maintenance of dashboards in PowerBI
  • Continuous improvement and development of processes using technology where appropriate
  • Managing the School Risk Register and associated provisions
  • Assisting the Dean of the Business School as a member of the school senior leadership team

  • First degree and/or substantial experience of running large scale administrative operations
  • Proven management and leadership in higher education
  • Knowledge of the UK Higher Education sector
  • Experience of analysing data and implementing actions
  • Experience of working with international students
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to delegate and set realistic targets for team members
  • Ability to lead, motivate, develop, challenge and inspire people
  • Proactive ‘can do’ attitude and leads by example
  • Able to manage workload
  • Able to deal with difficult/sensitive issues
  • Able to manage people and resolve conflicts
  • Understanding of the complexity of working in regulated education
