Part time 60% of full-time hours. Full time hours are available but over a shorter contract length.

The role holder will work with the AIMS-2-TRIALS team within the University of Cambridge Autism Research Centre, as well as working collaboratively with partner institutions across Europe, charity partners including Autism Europe, Autistica, other EU autism charities and members of the autism community.

The role holder will work on the Stakeholder Engagement work package (WP5) with a particular focus on autism policy research.

WP5 includes communication, dissemination, and education for the AIMS-2-TRIALS research programme. The role holder will be responsible for analysis and writing up of data from the existing collected datasets on access to services across the EU (ACCESS-EU) and policy priorities for autistic people (10 points for change).

The Research Associate will engage with European policy makers to communicate the findings from the policy research with the aim of advancing standards to improve the lives of people with autism. The role holder will also work collaboratively with a group of autistic people and parents from across the EU called Autism Representatives (A-Reps) to ensure that work carried out incorporates their views and preferences. 

Applicants should possess a good first degree and a PhD (or be in the final stages of completion of a PhD) in psychology or a relevant discipline. Applicants should demonstrate previous research experience in a similar field, skills and experience of quantitative data analysis, excellent organisational and communication skills.

Experience of communicating to a range of audiences including policy makers would be an advantage.

Appointment at Research Associate level is dependent on having a PhD (or equivalent experience), including those who have submitted but not yet received their PhD. Where a PhD has yet to be awarded appointment will initially be made at Research Assistant and amended to Research Associate when the PhD is awarded (PhD needs to be awarded within 6 months of the start date).

Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available until 31 May 2023 in the first instance.
