The Role
We wish to recruit a Professor (B) of Management Information Systems/Digital Business who can lead education and research in the field of MIS/Digital Business, both through their own work and through the mentorship and development of other faculty and students. It is critical that this Professor is committed to both education and research in MIS/Digital Business. This role will therefore have a balanced workload allocation of teaching and research, with a service role. The appointee will be expected to teach MIS/Digital Business at an undergraduate and postgraduate level as well as conduct active research. The new Professor of MIS/Digital Business will work with the other Professors, Faculty and Staff of the School of Business to support the development and operation of the wider School of Business’s education and research agenda. This appointment is expected to be at the Professor B level, subject to qualifications and experience.
The Professor of MIS/Digital Business will have an excellent track record in international peer reviewed publications, teaching and education innovation, in the development of MIS/Digital Business education programs at undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral level. She/he will have a proven capability in mentorship and development of faculty and research students, research funding, and experience in academic leadership. She/he will be expected to make a strong contribution to the teaching, research and profile of the university, and to provide ongoing leadership for the discipline.
The new Professor of MIS/Digital Business will be expected to contribute to integrating MIS/Digital Business modules into the wider curriculum of the School of Business at an undergraduate and postgraduate level. They are expected to be an active leader in the review, development and implementation of MIS/Digital Business postgraduate degrees that are market orientated and deliver high quality, employment relevant, education to domestic and international students.

He/she will be expected to make a strong contribution to the teaching programme of the School and undertake teaching duties on the Schools’ undergraduate and postgraduate programmes as well as the supervision of Masters and PhD students. The appointee(s) will be expected to build a strong research profile that supports the University’s research strategy including affiliating to its’ Research Institutes, where appropriate and working with colleagues on national and international research, whilst ensuring that they remain fully committed to teaching on undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. The appointee will be expected to sustain and conduct research, engage in scholarship of quality and substance and generate publications of international standard.
