The William Harvey Research Institute (WHRI) is based within the John Vane Science Centre on the Charterhouse Square Campus of Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry, within Queen Mary University of London. The WHRI has three core strategic themes: Inflammation, Cardiovascular and Endocrinology with a mix of basic scientists and clinicians benefitting from strong links with Bart’s and The London NHS Trust.
Applications are invited for an experienced Facility Manager to actively contribute to investigations into novel antibody engineering platform technologies. This will build on existing generations of phage display human antibody libraries that are focused on making clinical applications. The post will be part of a dynamic group aiming to establish novel concepts and developing unique phage display libraries. Applicants should hold a relevant PhD degree and work experience, with a broad interest in developing antibodies. Experience in the routine analytical equipment maintenance is also desirable. The post requires good communication, attention to detail, good organisational skills and computer skills. You will be expected to be highly motivated in pursuing your goals, extremely accurate in recording data, and will be closely supervised by the principal investigator Prof Ahuva Nissim who leads the Antibody Platform (https://www.qmul.ac.uk/whri/people/academic-staff/items/nissimahuva.html).
The appointment will be on an indefinite contract. The starting salary will be depending on experience £38,655 to £45,479 per annum inclusive of London Allowance. Benefits include 30 days annual leave, defined benefit pension scheme and interest-free season ticket loan.
Candidates must be able to demonstrate their eligibility to work in the UK in accordance with the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006. Where required this may include entry clearance or continued leave to remain under the Points Based Immigration Scheme.
