About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated, user-focused person to join our growing Learning Technology team in a vital new role. We are seeking a Learning Technologist who is passionate about improving learning and teaching with a key focus on technology, online delivery, and digital assessment. The post-holder will contribute to projects and provide support, expert guidance and training for a range of tools, pedagogic practices and digital capabilities, supporting a culture of continuous improvement. 

You will collaborate with fellow Learning Technologists to drive forward the effective use of digital technologies to enhance the learning and teaching experience, with the aim of providing an outstanding experience for our students and staff. You will be responsible for working collaboratively with academic staff, IT staff, Library staff, and other key staff who support teaching and learning in support of the organisational aims and objectives. 

This is a full-time (36.25 hours per week), fixed-term position for two years in the first instance. 

About the Person

The successful candidate will be passionate about using technologies to enhance learning and teaching. You will have a BA/BSc and preferably a postgraduate qualification in a relevant area. Additionally, you will be an expert in the design and development of online resources and activities. You will have experience of using one or more key learning technologies, including VLEs, and will have an understanding of inclusive higher education pedagogies. The role will suit someone who is a fast learner and is keen to develop learning/teaching systems skills in a higher education environment. 

To be successful in this role, you need to be adaptable, flexible, proactive and forward-thinking with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. You will also require excellent interpersonal and communication skills and a positive and enthusiastic approach. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines are also essential requirements.
