About the school or department

This is an exciting opportunity to join the University’s Unisport team working as part of our FA Women’s High-Performance Football Centre (FA WHPFC). In partnership with The FA, the University of Gloucestershire is one of 10 FA WHPFCs and provides a range of coach development projects for coaches working from grassroots to the elite level of the women’s and girls’ game.  

We are seeking an experienced Coach Development Officer to drive the delivery of coach development projects and lead the university’s women’s football programme.

The successful candidate will work with a range of internal and external partners to provide a range of support for coaches within female football, in line with The FA’s Strategy for Women’s Football. Alongside this the role will also lead on the universities women’s football programme on and off the pitch (including 1st team coaching and player recruitment), and coordinate the delivery of the WHPFC Goalkeeper Centre.

The role will work strategically with key internal and external partners to identify the coaching landscape and develop an inclusive and bespoke plan to support coaches across the performance pathway.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of a UEFA B coaching licence and will be able to clearly evidence the impact they have had in developing coaches and coaching programmes. They will have an excellent understanding of the female talent pathway and will be a strong team player with excellent communication and organisational skills, able to drive and develop programmes with their proactive approach
