About the Role
IP Rights Specialists play an important research facilitation role by enabling the  translation of research outputs into real world products and solutions.
 
You will be responsible for establishing whether parties outside the University were involved in the underlying research by liaising with academics, technology transfer partners,  research funders, external collaborators and acquire the necessary information to understand the context of a situation and to assess potential requirements.
 
As a result, you will then review,  draft  and negotiate appropriate agreements, where required in order to ensure that the terms fall within the University’s legal, policy and risk management framework and protect the researchers interests.

You will have great communication skills, and be confident in the ability to communicate to members of the public, students and academic staff with courtesy and politeness.
 
You will also have a positive attitude with a flexible and adaptable approach to your work, and be comfortable when priorities suddenly need to change.
