The University of Northampton is seeking an inspirational Lecturer / Senior Lecturer in Environmental Science. You will join a focussed and collegiate team, with an embedded culture of student-focused teaching and high impact research.
The successful applicant will teach within the Environmental Science and Geography team on specialist modules on our Geography, Environmental Science, Biological Sciences degrees. The successful applicant will have expertise in and experience of freshwater or terrestrial ecology. The ability to contribute to other modules across our programmes would be advantageous as would field skills such as, but not exclusively, identification, habitat surveys, GIS.
You will have a BA/BSc (hons) or equivalent in Environmental Science, Ecology or associated discipline, and have experience in the delivery of high-quality teaching and assessment materials. You should have a background in freshwater or terrestrial environments and/or plant ecology. A PhD qualification (or being close to completion) in a relevant discipline, alongside experience of teaching and effective use of digital learning technologies in HE, is essential. Ideally, you will hold (SL) or be working towards (L) a professional body qualification such as Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
The successful candidate will be ICT literate and ideally have experience in leading modules and programmes in HE settings. A track record of effective partnership working (internal and external) to develop scholarship and employability opportunities in community, non-profit, and private sector settings would be strongly advantageous.
You will be highly disciplined, organised, supportive, and able to work collegiately within a team. The ability to produce research publications, successful grant applications, and/or generate commercial income, would be welcomed.
