Based in the Human Resources Department and working closely with the Office of the Vice Chancellor, the Equality and Inclusion manager will be our expert in equality, diversity and inclusion matters providing advice and recommendations across all levels in the University on legislative requirements, good practice and inclusive activity.
You will be responsible for raising the profile of equality, diversity and inclusion within the University of Northampton and have responsibility for developing, implementing, and promoting relevant actions and initiatives.
Key responsibilities include stakeholder liaison providing advice, supporting strategic alignment, use of data and development of metrics to inform actions, supporting the Staff Networks, organising events and campaigns to raise awareness and celebrate diversity, help embed the completion of Equality Analysis, and compile key reports, such as Pay Gap and annual reports.

Educated to degree level, you will have experience of developing and implementing equality, diversity and inclusion initiatives in an organisational setting and have excellent knowledge of equality and inclusion legislation including a full understanding of the Public Sector Equality Duty.
You will be able to develop relationships and work confidently with colleagues at all levels, finding empathic people focused solutions. You will also work with our Network Leads supporting and initiating campaigns and events to celebrate diversity, raise awareness and support a culture of inclusivity.
Working with the full support of the Office of the Vice Chancellor, Human Resources are leading on work to address and enhance equality, inclusion and diversity in the University. Human Resource are also responsible for the development of the University’s HR policies, strategies and procedures covering all aspects of people management, recruitment and selection, pay and conditions, management development and employment relations. The department is made up of the following teams: Corporate, Business Partnering (including Resourcing), Payroll and Staff Development.
