JOB OVERVIEW

This is a fantastic opportunity for a supportive, highly organised, and motivated manager to join Royal Holloway University of London International Study Centre as the Head of English. Due to the growth and development of the International Study Centre (ISC), this is an exciting new challenge to lead a diverse team of talented Tutors that hold a wealth of experience from different areas of the education sector. Managing several programmes with multiple pathways, your organisational skills will be challenged as you work in a fast-paced environment. The expanded ISC has recently moved to a newly improved space in the world-famous Founder’s Building in the heart of the campus at the Royal Holloway University of London and you will be part of a team furthering the founder’s original mission of ensuring all have the opportunity to explore the limits of their potential.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

In this exciting job role, you will lead and motivate a team of Academic Tutors to ensure the best student outcomes and experience. You’ll work closely with the team to provide effective performance management and drive the team forward in terms of quality and pedagogy. You’ll need to be highly organised to manage the team’s workload effectively whilst efficiently managing your own time. You will have responsibility for student outcomes and experience as well as the overall Quality Assurance for the programmes within your area, as well as driving enhancements and development of the curriculum. Your networking skills will be required as you lead on maintaining and developing relationships with key academics from the Royal Holloway University of London ensuring a full understanding of relevant University curriculum content, assessment modes, education strategy and quality policies and procedures.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • A Bachelor’s degree
  • Teaching experience
  • Specialism in English Language and Academic Skills
  • Cambridge DELTA or equivalent
  • Leadership and management experience in a teaching and learning environment is desirable
  • A Master’s or higher degree in an appropriate discipline is desirable.
