The University of Kent is proud to be part of the Consortium for the Humanities and the Arts South-East England (CHASE). We are one of only 8 leading institutions offering a fully-funded AHRC doctoral studentships that includes an extensive programme of training, collaborative placements and development for all doctoral researchers in the arts and humanities.

These scholarships include a doctoral stipend (equivalent to the Research Councils UK National Minimum Doctoral Stipend, £17,668 2022/23 rate (2023/2024 rate to be announced). Tuition fees at the home rate and access to further research funding. If you are applying as an international candidate, Kent will waive the difference between Home and International fees. How to apply
New students wishing to be considered for these scholarships must apply for a PhD place at the University of Kent by Sunday 4 December 2022. Applicants are advised to discuss their research project with academic members of staff in the relevant schools as soon as possible. Any current Kent PhD students should contact the Director of Postgraduate Research in their department or School as soon as possible, or by 4 December 2022.
Your Kent application will be considered for a CHASE scholarship. If you are successful, you will be invited to complete a CHASE - specific application.
