Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Research Scientist to join Professor Ana Domingos’ laboratory. The postholder will become a member of the group and have responsibility for carrying out research for a molecular basis of Obesity. The post holder provides guidance to less experienced members of the research group, including postdocs, research assistants, technicians, and PhD and project students.
Responsibilities will include managing academic work and administrative duties, adapting and developing scientific techniques and experimental protocols, and contributing ideas for new research projects. You will be required to use specialist scientific equipment in a laboratory environment, and to act as a source of information and advice to members of the group on scientific protocols and experimental techniques. In addition, you will be expected to represent the research group at external meetings/seminars, either with other members of the group or alone.
You will hold, or be near the completion of, a PhD/DPhil in molecular metabolism and have relevant experience in single cell sequencing analysis. In addition, you must possess sufficient specialist knowledge in single cell sequencing analysis and rodent handling to work within established research programmes. You must be strongly motivated with a highly enthusiastic approach to science with good communication skills, including the ability to write for publication, present research proposals and represent the research group. You must have the ability to manage your own academic research and have previous experience of contributing to publications.
