The Post
The Division of Computing Science and Mathematics at the University of Stirling is seeking to appoint a senior lecturer/associate professor in the field of Artificial Intelligence, Data Science or Computer Vision on a teaching and research track as part of an exciting expansion of our division. You will support our globally diverse suite of taught courses in Computing and Data Science and help lead our internationally excellent research activities. You will provide leadership in both teaching and research.
You must have a proven track record of research and research leadership and you will be expected to generate high quality research outputs and grant income, working within our existing research teams. You will have an established research record and an international network of collaborators. Your research goals should be compatible with our core themes around data science, computer vision and AI; biological modelling; and computational mathematics and optimisation. You will be expected to provide leadership to PhD students and early career researchers and to contribute to the shaping and implementation of divisional research strategy. You will also play an active role in one of our research groups. We will also welcome applicants with high quality industrial networks and experience of collaborations with commercial organisations.
You will have experience of teaching subjects across the computing science curriculum and of supervising project students at both undergraduate and postgraduate level. You will manage cohorts of students from around the world, providing support both online and face to face. You will support our undergraduate and postgraduate programmes and help run other offerings such as micro-credentials and our graduate apprenticeship programme. You will help to develop teaching materials, support students using a variety of communication channels, create and mark assessments, and provide quality feedback. You will also contribute to the design and implementation of new taught offerings across all our channels. You will lead and develop innovative teaching practices using new technology and new patterns of delivery.
