The University of Sussex invests in Mathematics
The Department of Mathematics at the University of Sussex invites applications for two Senior Lecturer/Reader positions in the area of Numerical Analysis and Scientific Computation of partial differential equations with a strong mathematical modelling/application component. Preference will be given to candidates with applications in one or more of the following areas
These posts are two of three new positions that are being advertised within the Department to enable further expansion in response to increasing student numbers and external research funding success. The intent is to complement or complete the existing competences in our Department.
The successful candidate will be an independent, enthusiastic and committed academic with a top research track record who is a team player and would enjoy working in a young, dynamic and growing Department.
In the 2021 research excellence framework (REF), 98% per cent of our research outputs were classified as world-leading (4*) or internationally excellent (3*).
Current research in mathematics at Sussex is grouped into Analysis and Partial Differential Equations, Geometry and Topology, Mathematics Applied to Biology, Mathematical Physics, Numerical Analysis and Scientific Computing and Probability and Statistics.
Please indicate which position (Lecturer/Senior lecturer/Reader) you are applying for in your application.
