The European Institute is a world-leading and multidisciplinary centre of excellence for research and teaching on contemporary Europe in a global context. The department offers degrees at a post-graduate level; its faculty are active researchers, and teaching is research-led.
The Chair-holder will build on the achievements of the Hellenic Observatory, by providing it with academic leadership (and serving as its director, as required); conducting outstanding research in relevant areas and lead a research team with the same intent; have a record of public engagement, including public events; will display an ability to generate external funding; will offer high quality teaching and PhD supervision; and be willing to contribute to wider academic strategic development and management.
Candidates should have a proven track record of excellence in research and teaching; high quality publications in contemporary Greek studies in a relevant social science discipline (preference may be given to those in political science, public policy or political economy); experience of public engagement; and a record of academic leadership.
