The University of Manchester invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for a permanent, full-time senior lecturer or professor in Creative and Cultural Industries.

The post holder’s main duties will include:

  • Collaborating with colleagues in the Institute of Cultural Practices (ICP) on the development, management and administration, and teaching of the new MA and BA programmes in Creative and Cultural Industries (CCI)
  • Building a clear strategy in research and teaching in CCI, which supports synergies and collaboration across Art History and Cultural Practices (AHCP) and with our many external partners
  • Conducting research and publishing research outputs that reach international standards of academic excellence
  • Applying for external research grants
  • Leading and teaching on new and established programmes within AHCP at UG and MA level
  • Supervising BA and MA dissertations, MA placements and PhD theses
  • Acting as academic advisor to students
  • Developing and maintaining collaborations with our world-class University cultural assets - including the Whitworth, the Manchester Museum, Jodrell Bank and the John Rylands Research Institute – and with existing and new external CCI partners, such as Media City and Factory.
  • Taking a full part in the life and administration in AHCP
