University of Warwick - The University Finance Office

The University Finance Office is seeking to appoint several Finance Managers to join the Departmental Services Team (”DST”), supporting a number of areas of the University across the Professional Services (in particular the Library, and the Innovation Group) and the Academy (specifically Warwick Mathematics Institute). These are permanent positions that have arisen because of career development and growth. Applications are welcomed from candidates seeking full or part time (minimum 60%) positions.

Job Description

Role

The University Finance Office supports business planning and innovation to maximise the financial resources available to the University and create the long-term sustainable financial platform required for future growth. Finance staff across the University are networked as a professional community of expertise. You will be supported to continue your professional journey through access to Continuing Professional Development training opportunities, sector networks and regular Finance Office briefings.

Duties and responsibilities
You will join the Departmental Services Team which is well established and a supportive environment in which to build a career at the University. It is primarily engaged in management accounting and Finance business partnering.

You will provide accurate and timely management information and analysis to senior University management, Heads of Departments and other stakeholders in order to aid planning, control and decision-making, especially in the deployment of University resources and maximisation of income

Skills and experience
With a professional accounting qualification and current membership of a recognised CCAB professional body, and broad experience within a finance function, including preparation of business plans.

You will need to have excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders.

You will be expected to manage your own time effectively to deliver a programme of work to strict deadlines.

Prior knowledge and experience of the Higher Education sector is desirable but not essential.
