Postdoc in Computational Immunology Domínguez Conde Group Population and Medical Genomics Programme

Human Technopole (HT) is a new interdisciplinary life science research institute, created and supported by the Italian government, with the aim of developing innovative strategies to improve human health. 

The position of Postdoctoral Fellow position at the Domínguez Conde group aims to investigate mechanisms of gene regulation in the developing immune system using a range of single-cell cytometry and genomic technologies. We are seeking a highly motivated and self-driven individual to join us in our quest to improve the molecular understanding of human immune development in health and disease.

The successful candidate will report directly to Cecilia Domínguez Conde, Group Leader at the Centre for Genomics.

(S)He will have the following main responsibilities:

  • Analysis and interpretation of multimodal single-cell sequencing datasets (including scRNA-seq, scATAC-seq and CITE-seq)
  • Design of new approaches to integrate and query existing and newly generated single-cell datasets
  • Implement/develop novel analytical methods to infer differentiation trajectories and gene regulatory networks (GRN) during human immune development
  • Analysis of the clonal structure of developing immune cells via single-cell profiling of antigen receptor sequences
  • Assessment of trajectory or GRN disruption in inborn errors of immunity
  • Proactive interaction with the Genome Analysis Unit and the Genomics Facility for data generation and analysis

Job requirements

Essential:

  • PhD degree in immunology, genomics or bioinformatics
  • Strong track record of previous research projects
  • Experience with high-throughput sequencing data
  • Fluency in English – HT is an international research institute

Required personal skills:

  • Strong interpersonal skills such as negotiating, problem-solving, and knowledge-sharing
  • Ability to independently set priorities and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment with sensitivity and respect for diversity

Special consideration will be given to candidates who are part of the protected categories list, according to L. 68/99
