About The Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Technician to join the established team at the Academy of Music & Theatre Arts (AMATA). AMATA is a vibrant and industry connected hub for students studying across an extensive portfolio of performing arts and creative technical courses. The AMATA building also hosts a year-round performance programme of dynamic contemporary artists and performances across Theatre, Music and Dance.
This is a practical hands-on role providing a professional level of technical support, demonstration and supervision for the technical facilities, equipment and/or processes in all subject areas of the department. This includes the set-up, maintenance and supply of resources and equipment, and the provision of technical assistance, health and safety support and advice to all stakeholders, including students, teaching and research staff, and external customers.
About You
The successful candidate for this role will need to be a pro-active "team player" who is conscientious and hard-working who actively plays their part in continuing to make Falmouth University a great place to work. Alongside these core qualities, you’ll need to have experience and skills in audio practices as well as digital skills that can be applied to Streaming and A/V (projection). A good understanding of analogue and traditional processes as well as digital mixing techniques is essential, together with the ability to trouble-shoot and problem solve.
