Liverpool John Moores University is pleased to offer an exciting opportunity for a keen IT professional to join a mission critical team focused on the operational delivery of the University’s IT service.
The University has long recognised the importance of IT as a core component of the day-to-day running of its business. Thanks to a high level of ongoing investment, it can proudly boast some of the latest enterprise scale systems.
The successful candidate will join a key team within the Infrastructure group and will have responsibility for providing all aspects of the delivery of applications to both students and staff of the University. Currently this is an estate of almost 6000 desktop and 1500 laptops capable of remote working with about 500 applications.
The University makes use of Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (SCCM) to manage all Windows endpoints and deploy applications but is moving towards Intune. Virtual desktops are provided using Azure Virtual Desktop.
Preferably educated to degree level, you will be able to demonstrate experience in a variety of aspects of client systems development, maintenance, deployment and support. You will also be able to demonstrate excellent customer facing skills.
This is an exciting time for the provision and support of client computers with many new tools and methodologies becoming available to support modern deployment and management of user computing. Recent events have demonstrated the value of flexible IT, especially the ability to use services from any location. This varied and fulfilling role will play an important part in the evolution of the University’s IT provision to one with a much higher degree of mobility.

This sophisticated infrastructure provides the IT required for modern, hybrid working practices supporting the administration of the University, its Teaching and Learning activities and its extensive research projects.
