The Academic Services unit has around 1,200 staff and sits within the Professional Services Portfolio, under the leadership of the University Secretary. We are responsible for the operational delivery of an outstanding support service to the Open University’s students, wherever they are, and whatever their circumstances. We work in close collaboration with colleagues across the University, and in particular, the Pro-Vice-Chancellor – Students, the OU Student Association, the Executive Deans of the four Faculties, and colleagues in MarComms, Learner and Discovery Services, and IT.
The Student Policy, Compliance and Casework team is responsible for managing and co-ordinating the formal rules, policies and regulations which underpin The Open University student experience, and for receiving, recording, referring and monitoring formal complaints and appeals through the appropriate procedures.
The Open University is recruiting an adaptable person to provide administrative support to the Student Policy and Compliance team within Academic Services.
The postholder will have a customer focused attitude to delivering outputs, and work effectively with a range of stakeholders. They will need proven written and verbal communication skills and have a high level of IT skill. Experience of organising meetings and events, producing accurate typed minutes, and communicating in a professional manner are an important part of this role.
