About us

Situated within the Bartlett Faculty of UCL (which is ranked in the top 1% of higher education institutions globally, 3rd in the UK), the Institute of Sustainable Resources is part of the Bartlett School of Environment, Energy and Resources (BSEER) and provides expert interdisciplinary knowledge, collaborative research and teaching across a wide range of energy and environmental challenges.

About the role

The Research Fellow will contribute to the LINKS project (ERC Starting Grant), which aims to explore the role of the financial system to foster the low-carbon transition using quantitative techniques, in particular network models. The ideal candidate is a highly quantitative, analytical person with an expert knowledge of computer programming and network models, a keen interest in their application to finance, sustainability and multi-disciplinary research. The post is for 12 months full time (or 24 months part-time) in the first instance, further funding to support the post may be available.

About you

The post holder would be expected to have a PhD degree (or near to completion) in a quantitative field (e.g. Economics, Statistics, Finance, Physics studies) or related quantitative field related to the subject area. Essential skills would include excellent programming skills in at least one programming language such as Python, R and/or similar; excellent knowledge of research techniques and methodologies in network models, statistics or data science; good communication skills, both written and verbal; and excellent writing skills.
