Summary of the role
This is an exciting opportunity to work in the Engineering Teaching Laboratories at the University of Exeter. The University has invested in new facilities to put practical engineering experiences at the heart of our new curriculum. Key to this will be the provision of quality access to our Engineering Laboratories where the students and researchers will use the latest industrial standard test equipment to support their studies and research. This position will require in-depth demonstrable knowledge of electronic engineering and practices. This permanent position is available from 1st January 2023. Working as part of the engineering teaching laboratory team in Technical Services, the role holder will work primarily in support of teaching and project activities in the engineering laboratories in Exeter. This post will be based in our Engineering Electronics Laboratory however, the role holder would be expected to flexibly assist over the full complement of teaching laboratories across all subjects as necessary and as part of an integrated Technical Services team.
The role holder will engage with laboratory users with confidence and provide experienced based knowledge to promote inclusivity and assist the individual or project to achieve their full potential. The flow of activities through the laboratories will vary greatly in terms of duration and complexity, with a likelihood of overseeing or engaging in multiple projects being run simultaneously.
