An exciting opportunity has arisen for a key analytical role in the Applied Health Research building at the University of Nottingham. The post holder will be responsible for leading new analyses focused on disease risk prediction modelling within the context of neurological (e.g., dementia) and cardiometabolic diseases. A core focus of the work is on disease risk prediction modelling in ethnic minority and hard to reach groups in the UK.

You will have a PhD (or equivalent) in medical statistics, epidemiology, computer science, or a related subject and have experience in analysing “Big Data” including electronic health record data such as CPRD and cohort study data. You will be able to apply a wide range of statistical methods (e.g., Cox Regression, Missing Data Methods, Meta-analysis) in addition to having experience in more advanced Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning methods. You will be expected to plan, write, manage, and conduct all analyses and prepare high quality results summaries for dissemination.

The post holder will be a core member of a large team being led by Professors Nadeem Qureshi and Blossom Stephan along with Dr Manpreet Bains, at the University of Nottingham. The proposed work is funded as part of the NIHR Three Schools Dementia call and will require working in partnership with our collaborators at Cambridge, Manchester, and Newcastle universities. The abilities to communicate effectively and work in a team are essential.

This post is a part-time (18.13 hours per week), fixed-term position until 31/03/2024.
