An exciting and interesting opportunity has arisen within the Finance and Planning Department at the University of Gloucestershire for a Legal Executive.
This is a key role within the University to provide commercial contract support to the university during an exciting time as the university widens and grows its academic portfolio and is making significant investment in its estate.
The post is located within the Financial Performance Team which is responsible for financial management information, financial planning and commercial decision support. The team is dedicated to the provision of professional services to support the University planning processes and managing its resources, in a controlled and sustainable manner. It has a key role to play in developing management information, scenario planning and contract support to guide the University decision making.
The role will focus on providing general commercial and contractual advice to university group staff as well as supporting negotiations on large scale commercial contractual terms with third parties. The role will assist in advising, negotiating and drafting of non-standard commercial, grant and academic research agreements. It will maintain the university’s approved templates for commercial, grants and research agreements and, when applicable, make the relevant updates. The individual will work, with supervision, with any external legal advisors appointed by the university. This may be on large scale projects or activities or smaller individual instructions.
You will be either fully qualified or on track to achieve a relevant professional qualification; you will be self-motivated and have excellent interpersonal skills. With relevant experience in a Legal Executive role you will also have good organisational and administrative skills. The ability to work under pressure, adhere to strict deadlines and to be flexible is essential.
