About the Role
The postholder will be responsible for delivering Centre of the Cell’s Youth Membership Scheme, as well as delivering our science shows and workshops. Responsibilities also include developing new learning activities and working on various public engagement projects with researchers in other university teams.
Candidates must have relevant experience working in informal science learning, in a public facing role, and in developing educational resources. You must also have experience managing projects, be able to organise a varied workload, and be able to communicate effectively with a diverse range of organisations, groups and individuals. Excellent presentation and communications skills are essential. Candidates must be willing to be flexible on hours of work on a regular basis.
About the Institute
The Blizard Institute was established in 2003 and is one of six Institutes within the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry, QMUL. The Institute comprises approximately 350 staff based in four academic Centres and one Public Engagement Centre, and supports a combined total of c750 postgraduate research and taught students. The Institute aims to deliver excellence in all aspects of research, teaching and clinical service.
Centre of the Cell is a leading informal science learning centre, the first of its kind to be located inside a working biomedical laboratory, in the Blizard Institute. We welcome visitors from school groups during term time and family groups during school holidays, and we deliver our portfolio of shows and workshops on outreach visits to schools, at festivals, and in community centres.

The post is based at the Whitechapel Campus in London. It is full time, permanent appointment. The starting salary will be Grade 3 in the range of £29,642 - £36,348 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance.
