Department

The £136m transformation of our city centre campus has created an inspirational learning environment for our students, embedding DMU’s place as a global university at the heart of the local community.  With a new University Leadership Board and the introduction of our ‘Empowering University’ strategy, the Estates and Facilities directorate will continue to play a major role in achieving our ambitions by leading ambitious capital developments, enhancing our commercial potential and continuing to deliver a high level of service and support to our diverse student population, making their own transformational journey at DMU a life-long impact.

The role

As the Director of Estates and Facilities, you will be a core member of the University’s Extended Leadership Team, reporting to the Chief Finance and Resources Officer, and providing the senior and professional leadership for our estates and facilities services.  You will be a key player in the delivery of our exciting new strategy with the development of the next phase of our estates vision and masterplan, advancing the learning environment and commercial impact of our campus as well as maintaining our statutory, regulatory and professional standards.

What you will need to succeed

You will hold a track record of delivering strategic capital and estates programmes and the development of operational estates and facilities services in a complex environment. As a team player, you will have the ability to successfully engage students, academic and professional services colleagues, partner organisations and professional experts in the development and implementation of the estates vision, alongside a commercial mindset that will support the enhancement of business performance.
