The Precision Healthcare University Research Institute (URI) is Queen Mary’s second URI, created as part of the University’s ambitious Strategy 2030. URIs facilitate collaboration across the university to advance multidisciplinary research and innovation, tacking challenging research questions that will shape the future.
The Precision Healthcare URI will be housed in a brand-new building, the Queen Mary Life Sciences Building. The science intensive building represents the largest single investment in research in the history of Queen Mary and will provide a state-of-the-art research environment to enable scientific breakthroughs that transform lives both globally and across our richly diverse community in East London.
The unique feature of this Precision Healthcare URI will be how we integrate key components to complete the innovation cycle. It will include four world-class research centres in the following thematic areas:
We are seeking to appoint 5 clinical or non-clinical professors who will join the Institute on a part time basis (suggested 0.2 FTE), to contribute specific expertise and key skills sets in an area of interest to the institute. This flexible arrangement is intended to support the creation of new international research collaborations, allowing world-class knowledge exchange and partnership.
We would be willing to consider applicants for these posts from outside the stated areas above. Clinicians appointed at appropriate level and qualifications may be offered an Honorary Consultant post at Barts and The London NHS Trust.
Informal enquiries about this post are welcome and can be made to Prof Claudia Langenberg, Institute Director, email@example.com.
Salary will be commensurate with skills and experience, on either the clinical or non-clinical (Queen Mary) salary scales.
We particularly welcome applications from people who identify as Women, Black, Asian or Minority Ethnic groups as these groups are underrepresented at this level at Queen Mary.
