The LSE Law School Professor of Public Law is one of the United Kingdom’s oldest and most prestigious Chairs in Law. 

The post holder will take on a leadership role in Public Law in the Law School, as well as a leadership role in relation to the Law School generally. The post holder will contribute to the intellectual life of the School through conducting and publishing world leading quality research. The successful applicant will participate in teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate level and will be expected to take on senior administrative responsibilities within the Law School and the LSE, as well as mentoring and offering career development support to junior colleagues. 

Applications are sought from outstanding candidates with an international reputation in Public Law and a substantial body of influential publications. You should have a PhD in law or in a law-related discipline, or equivalent. You should have a track record of producing publications of the highest quality (at least two of which will be world leading), as well as a clear, well developed and viable strategy for outstanding research that will result in further world-leading monographs and articles. You should have a track record of providing leadership in advancing research and teaching, and a track record of providing leadership in effective departmental administration and contributing to strategic decision-making. 

Applicants should have a significant track record of excellence in the teaching of Public law or law-related subjects and a commitment to high quality teaching and fostering a positive learning environment for students at all levels.

This will take place over the course of the Lent Term, with a final decision being taken at the end of the Lent term.
