Job Summary
Are you excited by securing research funding for energy-related research projects? Do you enjoy working with a wide range of highly motivated stakeholders, from academia, industry, and government? If you have experience in science or engineering research and in writing research proposals and grant applications, this role in developing Imperial's energy research portfolio could be a rewarding next step in your career.
The Research Development Manager roles will share responsibility for developing Imperial's energy research portfolio. Working in Energy Futures Lab, one of Imperial's cross-departmental institutes, you will work with colleagues from across the College to secure research funding for energy-related research projects. With a focus on interdisciplinarity, you will help to bring together the efforts of colleagues from multiple departments and faculties to develop coordinated bids.
You'll gain experience in working with a wide range of stakeholders across a varied and exciting research portfolio. This starts with the broad base of energy researchers at the College, and extends to external stakeholders that will include funding councils, government, and industry partners. The role offers not only an opportunity to apply your scientific experience to a variety of technical, energy-related research, but also to develop skills in stakeholder management and relationship building.
Duties and responsibilities
You will proactively engage with academics from across the College to develop interdisciplinary research funding bids. You'll keep a close eye on funding opportunities from multiple sources and keep Imperial's research community informed of potential opportunities.
