About the Role:
We are recruiting a Team Lead- Research Management to join our Cancer, Ageing and Somatic Mutation Programme (CASM).
You will be responsible for:
Line management of the CASM Administrative Team, leading and supporting
Contributing towards the delivery of the Programme research by prioritising and managing administration activities
Ensuring compliance with Institute policies
You will work closely with the Head of Operations and admin teams to support Programme activities. The role will involve working closely with internal stakeholder groups to support the Programme in meeting their objectives.
About You:
You will have the ability to manage competing priorities and flexible to changing requirements. You will have good organisational skills and are able to lead a team that spans multiple complex projects, including keeping oversight of team output and performance.
Essential skills:
Previous scientific experience or qualification
Substantial experience of working in a science programme or equivalent environment
Demonstrable evidence of forming relationship with key stakeholders at senior levels
Proven experience of advising and influencing at senior levels
Excellent analytical abilities and critical thinking to facilitate problem solving
Proven experience of effective communication with internal and external customers
Provide experience of coordinating briefing materials across a range of subjects
Experience of producing, managing, and reporting on budgets
Knowledge and understanding of scientific third party funding
Ability to apply project management methodology as required
Exceptional organiser with the ability to prioritise and manage work load
Good understanding of the governance and regulation of the use of human samples
Excellent IT skills, including Excel
Well-developed negotiating and influencing skills
Ability to write and structure reports
Excellent attention to detail
Demonstrates resilience
Clear understanding of issues of confidentiality
Able to work effectively under pressure
Ability to work flexibly and collaboratively
Solution focused
Able to build and maintain strong working relationships
