About the Role:
The Cambridge Institute for Music Therapy Research (CIMTR) is a world-class, interdisciplinary university research institute based in the Faculty of Arts Humanities and Social Sciences (AHSS) dedicated to advancing the understanding of music therapy and its ability to affect positive change on health and human wellbeing.

Our world-leading music therapy work, in particular our focus on the wellbeing of people living with dementia and their families, earned ARU The Queen’s Anniversary Prize. These prizes recognise outstanding work by UK universities and colleges that shows the highest levels of quality and innovation and delivers significant public benefit.

We are seeking to appoint a new Professor of Music Therapy and Director of the Cambridge Institute for Music Therapy Research who will lead and direct the Institute expanding its world-leading music therapy research with impact and clinical service provision, regionally, nationally and internationally.

With a proven track record of world-leading research, you will contribute to the leadership of the research and innovation environment in AHSS, and across the university. Focusing upon the highest quality research, income generation, partnership development beyond ARU, and a strong research student supervision portfolio, you will fully engage in the leadership of relevant ARU research themes working with the Deputy Vice Chancellor for Research and Innovation and other senior leaders and researchers across Faculties.

Currently holding the title of Professor or demonstrating the ability to meet our professorial criteria, a PhD or Professional Doctorate and professional qualification in music therapy, you will have substantial experience of research and income generation internationally and possess an internationally recognised research publication portfolio.

With demonstrable experience of high-quality teaching including successful supervision of research students, you will hold membership of a relevant professional or academic association or special interest group.
