A Wellcome-funded Laboratory Manager position is available in the group of Professor Andrew Sewell in the Division of Infection and Immunity at Cardiff University School of Medicine. This post will be suitable for an individual who has experience working in, and managing, a large multi-disciplinary research group.
The successful candidate will be expected to participate in all aspects of work in the research group including cleaning, maintenance, keeping inventories, training, student supervision and staff management. They will also be required to maintain records, and ensure compliance in line with health and safety, and research governance requirements.
You will be a team player and, you must be capable, and comfortable, with working independently within pre-agreed levels of automony, and of supervising others. Applicants should have experience in stock management, ordering processes, budget management, and maintenance of associated records. It will be advantageous if you have some relevant experience in a range of relevant immunological and molecular biological techniques including, flow cytometry, PCR and gene cloning/expression, and/or other techniques used by the research group such as protein expression, X-ray crystallography, and analysis of crystallographic data.
This post is full time (35 hours per week) fixed term position and is available from 3rd January 2023 until 30th December 2025.
