Academic Quality Advisor (Educational Partnerships)

Bath Spa University - Academic Governance and Quality

Closing Date: 12 midnight UK time, 13th December 2022

Interview Date: Friday 16th December 2022

About the role

Are you working in quality assurance with experience of policy and compliance? We have a new and rare opportunity for an Academic Quality Advisor to shape this position within our friendly and supportive Academic Governance and Quality team. This is a really exciting time to be joining a growing team with an expanded remit for shaping the University’s approach to partnership management.

As our Academic Quality Advisor, you’ll scope objectives for and draft reports on partner visits, oversee the review and approval of partner policies, and develop bulletins on quality and standards to ensure partners understand and feel well supported in their academic compliance obligations. Your experience will be greatly valued and vital to not only supporting the Deputy Head in the redesign and implementation of revised partner quality assurance procedures but also your passion and communication skills will enable you to build strong relationships and work closely with stakeholders across the University to ensure a consistent and efficient approach to partnership compliance.

About you (requirements)

You will be reflective and enthusiastic with experience of policy and compliance in either higher education or another regulated sector. You will have the confidence and professionalism to develop and maintain productive relations with internal staff at all levels of seniority, as well as external advisors and partner staff.

As a natural problem solver with an analytical mind, you will thrive on applying your knowledge of set guidelines and procedures appropriately and have a passion for explaining complex concepts clearly to non-expert audiences. You will be given the flexibility to identify solutions for wider or complex issues, whilst playing a key role in working effectively within the team.

About us

We are Bath Spa University, passionately creative and talented individuals who share the values of respect, inclusivity, collaboration, and sustainability. Together, our diverse teams bring their own unique skills, knowledge and personalities to create a friendly and forward-thinking culture that harnesses support for both staff and students alike. We believe in the power of people; it is our mission to be your pillar of support and to help you realise your talent across academia and professional services.

We teach around 8,000 students on a set of campuses around Bath, with most being located at Newton Park, including a listed Georgian house and grounds, or Locksbrook Road, our new city centre art and design campus. Our research centres focus on creative industries and humanities.

The Academic Governance and Quality team is a small friendly team of 8 colleagues, and you will be well supported to expand your knowledge about higher education regulation and partnership management. Our approach to hybrid working is flexible, with team members expected to attend campus for two days a week.

We open our vacancies for two weeks at a time but appreciate that talented individuals like yourself get snapped up quickly, so we will be reviewing your details as we go.
