Your new role will be in the Department of Civil, Maritime and Environmental Engineering (CMEE) at the University of Southampton as a Teaching Fellow in Maritime Engineering. CMEE is a world-class centre for education, research and enterprise and is an ideal environment as a springboard for early-career academics. Southampton is a leading University in the UK, Europe and the World for the discipline of Maritime Engineering on its renowned Ship Science teaching programme.
In this new role you will contribute to the delivery and continuous improvement of our maritime engineering education. We have new, world-class facilities, including the 138m towing tank at the Boldrewood Innovation Campus and a vibrant 50-strong departmental collaborative academic community, within a globally top 1% university. Engineering in Southampton was ranked 4th in REF 2021 for both quality(GPA) and power.
You will demonstrate the ability and enthusiasm to deliver a range of teaching activities and assessment across maritime engineering, along with ideas to develop and refresh module content. It would be highly beneficial if you have experience with yachts, high performance craft (planing and foiling), or towing tank experiments. Your role will include opportunities for external engagement, as well as gaining leadership experience within our department. It is anticipated you will join us from September 2022.
