About the School
It’s a great time to be considering a move to the University of Gloucestershire and The School of Health & Social Care (HSC). As part of a growing school, you will also be part of the move to our new City Campus which is a new development and will be a focal point of Gloucester City, and a modern centre for teaching learning and community partnerships.
The University of Gloucestershire School of Health and Social Care is continuing to grow and offers a variety of programmes across the disciplines of health and social care. The department works closely with local practice partners to develop the local workforce through associated practice placements.
The Placement Quality and Allocations Manager (Social Work) is integral to the organisation and development of practice partner relationships and quality placement allocations across Gloucestershire and associated surrounding areas. The post holder will work closely with the School of Health and Social Care Placement Lead, practice partners, academic course teams, coaches in practice and the HSC placement team; to ensure a high-quality placement learning experience for the University of Gloucestershire health and social care students/learners. This critical post will work across health and social care programmes to align academic practice, with responsibility for maintaining the academic quality and allocation of placements.
About the role
The School of Health and Social Care are looking to recruit a full-time placement quality and allocation manager to support the exciting growth and placement requirements within the fields of Social Work/Social Care.
We are looking for an enthusiastic experienced health or social care practitioner to join the expanding School of Health and Social Care placement team. This is an exciting post supporting the growth and development of social work/ social care placements in line with the growth of the School.
Applicants should have a good understanding of the needs of undergraduate students on health and social care programmes as well as an appreciation of the professional requirements of the practice-based elements of these courses.
This post also offers an exciting opportunity to be involved in moving the School forward with its strategic plan to deliver a sustainable health and social care workforce for Gloucestershire in collaboration with our strategic partners.

The School of Health and Social Care will be relocating from its current premises on Oxstalls Campus to the City Campus, a new development for the University that will be a focal point of Gloucester City, and a modern centre for teaching learning and community partnerships. It is anticipated that the campus will be operating from September 2023.
