We are looking for a UK Visa and Immigration (UKVI) Administration Officer to join HR Operations. This is an exciting opportunity to join a team dedicated to providing expert advice in a variety of UK Visa and Immigration areas. You will provide comprehensive, effective and efficient administrative support for UK visas and immigration to ensure the University continues to meet and maintain all UKVI and right to work responsibilities for staff.
The role
A full-time position, the operational hours of work are 9am – 5pm, Monday to Friday, but we offer flexibility including hybrid working with a mix of home and office locations.
You will be the first point of contact for UK visa and sponsorship related queries, whilst promoting best practice to University UKVI processes and managing expectations. You will also ensure that the criteria and requirements for UK visa routes are met where the University is responsible including Skilled Worker, Government Authorised Exchange and Global Talent.
As part of the UKVI Staff Visa Team within HR Operations, you will work with teams across HR and across the University to ensure continued compliance.
What we are looking for
You will have a proven ability to learn and adapt to new and changing information, and will be able to produce clear, accurate and concise written documentation with attention to detail.
What we can offer you
Our HR department works across Highfield Campus and One Guildhall Square, but your main work location will be One Guildhall Square located within Southampton city centre. Both offices have easy access to public transport, restaurants, coffee shops and a University gym.
There will also be an opportunity to work flexibly from home, as well as coming into the office when required.
As part of our commitment to your wellbeing, we offer an occupational pension scheme and generous holidays (20 days annual leave plus bank holidays and University closure days). Staff also have access to our state-of-the-art on-campus sports, arts, and culture facilities and access to a number of University employee-discount schemes.
As part of the UKVI team, you will be supporting the University to 'inspire excellence to achieve the remarkable and build an inclusive world'. This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of the University community, where people are valued, and collegiality is key.
Application Procedure
The application deadline will be midnight on the closing date stated above. If you need any assistance, please call the HR Recruitment Team on +44 (0) 23 8059 2750, or email recruitment@soton.ac.uk. Please quote the advert reference on all correspondence.
