The Department of Culture, Communication and Media (CCM) is a department of IOE, UCL’s Faculty of Education and Society. It is committed to excellence in teaching, research and consultancy in the areas of: Media and Cultural Studies, Art, Design and Museology; Academic writing; English education: Applied Linguistics; Music Education; Multimodality studies; Learning with Digital Technologies. We are seeking an exceptional appointment to the post of Technician - Media Production.
Opening in 2022 and 2023, UCL East will unite academic activities across experiments, arts, society and technology, integrating research and education, theory and practice – with cross-disciplinarity, innovation and public engagement. More than just a conventional campus, UCL East represents a future focused mindset. We will deliver new research, technology and innovation, and undergraduate and postgraduate degree programmes for up to 4,000 students. You will play an important role in supporting the BA MEDIA, collaborating with other studio technicians and supporting the media programmes. They include the MA Digital Media and the BA pathways in practical production work with a focus on film and games/interactive media.
You will provide comprehensive teaching support including technical workshops, masterclasses and one-to-one tutorials. In addition you will deliver support for academic staff in teaching and research. With extensive knowledge of media production workflows: pre-production, production and post-production processes you will also have experience of technical support, teaching support and workshop delivery. This post is available from 1st March 2023.
