The School of Applied Sciences is seeking to appoint a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow with PhD experience in synthetic chemistry to carry out postdoctoral research in the area of self-assembled metallosupramolecular systems. This is as part of a research collaboration between Professors’ Craig Rice and Roger Phillips and Dr Simon Allison on a 3-year EPSRC funded project entitled “Self-Assembled Cryptate Kinase Inhibitors as Anti-Cancer Therapeutic Agents.” This project will involve the synthesis of novel multi-dentate ligands, coordination chemistry and investigation of their potential as anti-cancer therapeutics. For details see Nat. Comm., 2021, 12, 1-15, Angew. Chem. 2018, 130, 13255 –13259 and Angew. Chem. 2018, 130, 9947 –9952.
We are looking for a professional individual with a degree and PhD in a relevant area and with excellent practical experience in synthetic chemistry.
You will join a well-equipped and well-funded Department and a collaborative multidisciplinary team that includes chemists, biologists and pharmacologists working on this exciting area of research within the School of Applied Sciences.
The School is committed to Athena SWAN principles and the promotion of equality and diversity and is proud to hold a silver Athena SWAN Award.
