We are now looking to appoint a Senior Lecturer, Reader or Professor in Speech and Language Therapy.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established and successful team at the University of Essex to enhance your skills and experience in this field.
You will be expected to take on the role of Divisional Lead for the Speech and Language Therapy Division. The Speech and Language Therapy Division is one of seven Divisions in the School of Health and Social Care and has a portfolio of Speech and Language Therapy courses at a pre-registration level, including a 3-year BSc, an apprenticeship leading to a BSc qualification, and a 2-year MSc.
The role will include overall management and leadership of the Speech and Language Therapy Division, and will require management, administration, and organisation alongside support of students on our existing programmes, and generally enhancing our research-led teaching and research in Speech and Language Therapy.
We aim for excellence in research as well as in education and are looking for candidates who can contribute to both.
About you
You will have relevant professional experience or practice or relevant doctoral level degree (or be close to completion for and will have a commitment to uphold the HCPC standards of conduct, performance and ethics and to exhibit professional behaviours and attitudes in keeping with NHS values.
It is essential that candidates have sustained record in teaching at undergraduate and/or postgraduate levels and an understanding of how students learn both generally and within their subject/disciplinary area(s).
For ASER contracts, you will have an established and internationally recognised research profile, with a well-developed future research agenda.
