About The Role
Falmouth University's ambitious 2030 Strategy, ‘Doing it for Real’, is designed to deliver yet further growth in our student numbers and income through portfolio diversification, innovation, research and commercial ventures. It will establish Falmouth as the market leader for creative industries and entrepreneurship education over the next decade, capitalising on our considerable assets in innovation-led research and business incubation.
Due to this growth, we are looking to recruit an enthusiastic individual to join the Animation team as a Lecturer in Computer Animation. This post offers the opportunity to be part of an exceptional team delivering our thriving Undergraduate Animation programme.
Our highly successful Animation programme enables students to work across 2D, 3D and stop-motion as well as acquire key skills in understanding the Animation pre-production and production process. With strong industry connections we put real-world experience at the heart of our programme, so students develop a clear understanding of how industry works to support and prepare them for their future careers.
About You
The ideal candidate will possess a Master's degree in a relevant subject and be a strong, creative practitioner with substantial, and preferably recent, industry background with proven teaching experience in higher education. You will have a range of professional animation experience, as well as a specific specialism in 3D, to make a robust contribution to our curriculum. Possessing considerable knowledge of the subject, you need to be a pro-active team player, as well as demonstrating commitment and drive. You will enable students to develop and enhance their capacity to nurture their creative development and understanding in animation as a core creative practice. Using your industry knowledge, you will help our students explore a range of professional environments to start developing successful career paths.
You will have teaching responsibilities mainly across the 3D pathway on the BA Hons Animation, a well-established programme with an excellent record of student and graduate achievement. An inspiring teacher, you will support students to develop their creative voice, hone their specialism and develop their future potential.
