Leverhulme Early Career Fellowships
Leverhulme Trust Early Career Fellowships (ECFs) aim to provide career development opportunities for those who are at a relatively early stage of their academic careers, but who have a proven record of research. The Guildhall School is delighted to be able to invite candidates to participate in an internal process to select promising individuals and projects for support and development prior to submitting an application to the Leverhulme Trust.
The Guildhall School is distinctive in being the only world-leading European institution that is both a music conservatoire and a drama school; it is also pre-eminent in technical theatre, professional development, community outreach, and music therapy. In 2019, the Guildhall School won 50% of Leverhulme ECFs awarded to researchers in the field of Music nationally, and has been rated the top music conservatoire for research in the latest Research Excellence Framework (REF2021).
The research department at the Guildhall School explores fundamental questions about the creative arts. It embraces a wide range of disciplines within music and drama including composition, performance, pedagogy, historical musicology, music and literature studies, cultural history, electronic music, and music therapy. The School therefore invites project proposals that fit within the wide range of disciplines under the Guildhall School remit. Please see our website for more information.
