EPCC at the University of Edinburgh is the UK’s leading centre for High Performance Computing and Data Analytics. EPCC leads the Software Sustainability Institute: a collaboration between the universities of Edinburgh, Manchester, Oxford and Southampton. The SSI’s mission is to improve the use of software in research and it is funded by all seven UK research councils.
We are seeking to recruit a Project Officer as part of the Software Sustainability Institute team to contribute to the administrative activities undertaken by the SSI, which include research project finance, liaison with partners and collaborators, and organisation of meetings. You will also have the opportunity to work with the EPCC research projects administration team.
The Opportunity:
This is an exciting opportunity to work at a world-leading research software initiative with researchers from a diverse variety of disciplines. The Project Officer will ensure the efficient operation of the Software Sustainability Institute and contribute to the success and efficiency of the team, enabling the Institute to continue delivering high-quality resources and initiatives to support research software communities.
The successful candidate will be a highly motivated professional with a proven track record in project administration and finance. Previous experience of working in a university or similar environment, with researchers or research software engineers, and of building relationships with key service contacts in an organisation, are desirable but not essential if you can demonstrate relevant skills and experience. The position requires good communication and people skills, as well as a high degree of organisational ability.
This post is full-time (part-time / job share a possibility) and fixed term for 2 years with the possibility of extension dependent on funding.
